3 Ways To Protect Your Basement From Flooding - Image 1

Finishing or remodeling your basement can be a large investment. Make sure you protect your new space from flooding before it's too late. Here are 3 ways to protect your space.

1. Inspect and Repair Foundation Cracks

One of the most important things to do before finishing your basement is to find and repair any potential sources of water damage. Once your basement is finished you will not have easy access to your foundation walls, finding any potential sources of water before construction starts will save you time and money down the road.

2. Regular Sump Pump Maintnance

Checking that your sump pump is working on a regular basis, especially before a large rain can save you from a flooded basement.

3. Install a Backup Sump Pump

A back-up sump pump will automatically turn on in the event that your main pump stops working. We always recommend installing a back-up pump in a finished basement.
