This basement started out as a dark, blocked off space with too many walls and a poor layout. The homeowners were in need of a multi-functional space they could use for entertaining, as a home office, and a place for guests to stay. Opening up the basement to feature an open concept design allowed the floor plan of the entire basement to flow much nicer. There are now clear sight-lines from the main living space to the dining room, this makes the basement feel brighter and larger. This basement now feels more like a lower level rather than a basement.
