Steve is a born entrepreneur. He is ALWAYS looking for a better process, the best products and best people to join his team.
With over 30 years of construction experience, Steve has learned what to do and more importantly, what not to do, in order to have a successful construction business. His vast experience and knowledge in custom home building and major remodeling have allowed him to find his passion for creating great lower levels. In 2003, Basements Plus was formed with the intent to be the best company in the basement finishing industry.
When Steve isn't researching on how to improve the company, you can find him looking up recipes for a great home cooked meal or how to grill the best steak in town. He loves to have his family over for Sunday dinners to share his culinary creations and head up north for hunting trips and nights around the bonfire.

Amy married into the construction business, initially helping Steve with bookkeeping in the evenings and distributing flyers. As the business rapidly grew, she eventually left her job, and together they built a successful family business!
As one of the owners, Amy takes pride in watching the company grow over the years. With new team members and processes in place, she loves witnessing the growth and transformation from what it was 10 years ago. While she once wore many hats, her current focus is on bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable, and maintaining the company’s branding. She also oversees marketing, HR, and overall business growth.
Amy enjoys that everyday is different. One day she is working on strategic marketing plans then payables/receivables. When she is not busy at the office Amy loves spending time outdoor paddle boarding, kayaking, and walking.
Even after all these years she still gets WOW’d by the the finished project.

As Marketing Coordinator, Erik wears many hats at Basements Plus. He is responsible for capturing striking before-and-after photos of homes and works directly with homeowners to coordinate open houses that showcase their newly finished basements. You will often find Erik on-site documenting projects in progress, photographing the hard-working crews, and highlighting the finished spaces that bring each project to life.
His passion for photography began as a hobby while he spent over a decade working in the radio industry. In addition to project photography, he plays a key role in coordinating home show events across Southeast Michigan and is always willing to jump in wherever help is needed around the office.
Erik is also well known for one unmistakable office trademark: lunchtime pizza. If you smell it, Erik is probably nearby.
Outside of work, Erik is usually planning his next trip outside of the U.S. Whether it is traveling across the country for a great rock show or booking another spontaneous trip to Europe, he is the go-to person for travel recommendations and discovering new music!

Avery's passion for social media first sparked when she managed the social platforms for a local donut shop during her university years attending Central Michigan University. She built on her early experience from high school, where she ran her dance studio's Instagram account. Holding a BAA in Dance Studies and boasting 3 National Championship titles with the CMU dance team, Avery brings a distinctive perspective and vibrant energy to every post she creates. She currently manages the Design Team, using her experience to help the team learn, grow, and problem-solve so that all of our customers have an excellent design experience with a top-notch team. Katie received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a focus in Interior Design from Wayne State University and is a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer from the NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association). Her thoroughness extends into every aspect of her life.

She has completed countless murals for homeowners and business owners, as well as custom canvas artwork and even hand-painted cornhole boards. Today, Braeden is part of our Logistics Team, helping keep materials, equipment, and projects moving efficiently so our crews have what they need to deliver a great experience for homeowners.

When he's not napping in his favorite spot (which, conveniently, is wherever you're about to sit), he's busy testing out the best office treats and providing top-notch tail-wagging services.
