OUR STORY
How We Raise the Bar on Basement Remodeling
Steve Iverson spent years in construction watching homeowners get overcharged, misled, and left to deal with problems their contractors should have handled. In 2003, he and Amy founded Finished Basements Plus because they believed homeowners deserved better.
That belief still guides the company today. Putting homeowners first is a value we make decisions by, not just a slogan. It means asking whether we’re doing right by you at every stage of your project and taking responsibility when something falls short.
Inviting contractors into your home and living through construction takes trust and we’re proud to have earned that from so many families.

Are Dry Basements Plus & Finished Basements Plus the Same Company?
Yes. Dry Basements Plus and Finished Basements Plus are both part of Basements Plus, with the same owners, office, and standards.
Finished Basements Plus handles basement finishing and remodeling, while Dry Basements Plus handles waterproofing, foundation repair, and crawl space encapsulation.
If your project involves both, you can work with one company to coordinate it all.

How We Give Back to the Community
The communities we serve are also where our families live, our kids go to school, and our team spends time outside of work. Each year, we give back through sponsorships and donations to local schools, teams, and organizations, including Pink in the Rink, Lakeland High School, Team Joseph, and Milford Cinema.
Some of those connections are deeply personal. When our general manager, Mitch Shaver, was diagnosed with ALS, our team rallied to raise funds for ALS of Michigan. Today, we support the Mitchell Leland Shaver Foundation, which provides grants and home modifications for families living with ALS.
Supporting these causes is part of caring for the communities we’re proud to be part of.
